THANK YOU FINNING CANADA

The BC Museum of Mining has received a timely donation of some important machinery after sending out a plea to the mining industry. Finning answered the call.

For the last 13 years a Bobcat was an invaluable piece of equipment for general maintenance, and for renovation and construction projects around the site. At the age of 25, the Bobcat was on its last legs and had actually died.

Vin Coyne, of Finning Canada is an influential leader in the mining industry and is known for building partnerships. After connecting with Finning out of Edmonton, it was not long before the Museum received a call from Norm Trottier at Finning with some great news.

The Museum received a 2007 Caterpillar 246B with very low usage. It would have cost in excess of $30,000 to purchase. The Caterpillar was delivered by local Squamish Finning rep Steve Cook, who trained the Museum staff on their new skid steer.

The BC Museum of Mining staff would like to thank Finning Canada for their support. The new Caterpillar is critical to their daily operations and maintenance. It will also be instrumental in the completion of the Britannia Project.
