What Will We Do With the Fund?

We intend to use endowment interest to inspire, engage and connect with our many visitors young and old. When the endowment fund reaches $700,000 the Museum will have guaranteed perpetual annual operating revenues from endowment interest of approximately $30,000 - and as the endowment grows the interest we can use for projects grows too.

Of particular interest to us are environmental initiatives and Collections Care projects. As a non-profit organization, many such projects often fall below annual budget barriers. By enabling these projects we become a more rounded Museum, strengthening our ability to engage our public, and to show leadership amongst our peers and community.

What is the Vancouver Foundation's BC Arts Renaissance Fund?

The BC Arts Renaissance Fund is an endowment and development fund established by a grant of $25 million from the Province of British Columbia to support arts and culture organizations across British Columbia.

The BC Arts Renaissance Fund's endowment program will assist British Columbia's non-profit arts and culture organizations to build permanent endowment funds by providing matching grants. Income generated from the capital of the funds established by arts and culture organizations will provide annual revenues to ensure long-term financial stability and enable new opportunities for growth.
