Kirstin Clausen
Executive Director
With over 25 years experience as a Museum curator, educator
and administrator, Kirstin combines her love of history
with the arts to promote the Museum as a vibrant and
relevant landmark in the community. She provides operational
oversight and is responsible for the implementation
of long term strategic plans relating to the Museum
programs and services.
Diane Mitchell
Curator of Education & Collections
With a background in geology, Diane spent 12 years working for the National Museums of Scotland, before moving to BC to take up this position in 2007. Diane is responsible for the developing and implementing of school and education programs including exhibits. She also oversees research initiatives and the Collections management of geology specimens, archives and mining artifacts.
Carol Watts
Visitor Services & Retail Manager
Joining the Museum in 2004, Carol brought significant experience in the fields of retail and guest services. She is responsible for ensuring visitor safety and amenities. She oversees the Gift Shop, tour company bookings, special event coordination for annual events such as Copper and Fire, and helps to build and maintain relationships with the local tourism industry.
Maggie MacKinnon
Accounting Manager
Maggie joined the Museum in 2005 as the Accounting Manager with 8 years of experience in the financial field. She is responsible for account payables and receivables, human resource management and assisting with the implementation of strategic business plans.
Katherine Flett
Marketing Director
Katherine has won awards nationally and internationally over her 15-year career in marketing and branding, and brought her commitment and vision to the Museum in 2004. She assists with the development and implementation of all of the Museum's marketing plans and branding strategies.
Paul Marlatt
Assistant Site Manager
Paul is responsible for Museum maintenance and capital projects.
Megan Gerstmar
Assistant Manager, Visitor Services
Megan oversees the Gift Shop and assists with visitor services initiatives.
Rory Odenbach
Head Tour Guide
Rory is a wonderful storyteller who loves to share the history of the mine with visitors from around the world. He also coordinates and trains our tour guides.
Robin MacDonald
Booking and Communications Coordinator
Robin manages all booking requests and assists with both internal and external communications.
Jane Iverson
Assistant Curator
Jane's expertise is Britannia Beach community history.
